Marmite and Cucumber Sandwiches

Marmite and cucumber sandwiches
I remember them so well
Lurking in my school bag,
Waiting for the bell.

Out in the playground to eat them,
Gobbled up too fast,
However much I tried to,
I never made them last.

I remember Rosemary Bosworth,
She had onion and cheese,
But she would never share them
However, we said please.

Robert always had marmalade,
He thought he was Paddington Bear,
We don’t know how he did it,
But he’d get it in his hair.

The daft things you remember
Sitting down for tea,
But Marmite and cucumber sandwiches
Always satisfied me.
